The Only Real Mistake You Can Make
Inspiration of the Day
“If you have made mistakes, there is always another chance for you. You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing we call ‘failure’ is not the falling down, but the staying down.”
Mary Pickford (1892 – 1979)
Motion picture actress, writer, director and producer.
She was co-founder of the film studio United Artists and one of the
original 36 founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
So Now What?
Some of the time we fall on our way to reaching our dreams. You may define it anyway you would like. Failure, mistake or learning process. It’s up to you to decide which it is. It is also your decision, and YOUR decision only, when you get to push the restart button. You can push that button at any time and as many times as you would like to reboot and create a fresh start.
There are a lot of people who will be happy to label and critique your progress. But don’t hand your life dreams over to someone else. They don’t understand you like you do. You should by all means seek out advice, knowledge and information from people you respect but how that knowledge gets applied to your life is totally and utterly up to you.
And if you don’t achieve your goal in the first, second or two hundred and twenty second try, so what? It only becomes a failure when YOU define it as such.
Know this: the only mistake you can make in life is staying down after you fall.
