The Difference Between Failure and Success
Inspiration of the Day
“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”

So Now What?
You know that book series called Chicken Soup For The Soul? It may be a little over exposed with all those different titles, some people may even think it’s a joke. But did you know that book series has sold over 500 million copies world wide since it was published in 1996? A “best-selling” book is about 100,000 copies.
Now a days it would seem obvious that the Chicken Soup books would make for a popular book series. But back in 1995 over 140 publishers rejected Chicken Soup. And even when an almost bankrupt publisher who specialized in medical books decided to take a chance it still took about 18 months after it was first published before it started to sell.
What if the creators of that series, Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen, had decided to give up after the 42nd rejection? How about the 93rd, the 127th or the 139th? What if they had decided to throw in the towel after 6 months of trying to market and sell the book? How about 10 months, 14 months or 16 months?
Did you know that an author earns around 1 per book sold depending on price? That’s a lot of royalty checks Canfield and Hansen have been able to cash over the years, checks they wouldn’t have been able to cash if they had given up.
Did you also know that they have a file drawer of over 10,000 letters and emails from people who decided not to commit suicide because of one of the stories they read in one of their books?
You may have a deadline when believe that you should reach your goal or give up. But if you want it bad enough, if you believe in what you are trying to achieve why would you ever give up? If you believe 100% that you will reach your goal what are the chances that you will reach your goal…100%. Don’t give up!
